Solidary and creative: studio house in the Veringhöfe. Space for artists and a meeting point in the Reiherstieg district.

From an asbestos factory to a creative hub: as part of the IBA's “Räume für die Kunst” program, the idea of a studio building became a reality in 2010, with the first tenants moving in in 2013. Nevertheless, the site has a much longer history.

Atelierhaus 23 is a unique place for art and culture. It is made up of two association structures: the non-profit Verein zur Förderung von Kunst und Kultur e.V. and Verein Veringhöfe e.V..

In the Gallery 23, we not only exhibit the works of the artists from Atelierhaus 23, but also act as a platform for guest exhibitions, events in the neighborhood and direct artistic exchange on the Veringkanal.

Wenn wir tanzen, verändern wir die Welt. Unsere eigene, aber auch die der Menschen, die mit uns tanzen oder uns beim Tanzen zuschauen. Im Tanz erleben wir Freude, Kraft, Kreativität, Konzentration und Selbstwahrnehmung. Vor 15 Jahren bin ich mit meiner Familie nach Wilhelmsburg gezogen, und hatte den Herzenswunsch hier Yogakurse anzubieten.

Struktur wirkt und reagiert auf den Raum. Nimmt Besitz vom Raum. Wird selbst Raum?

We are artists from a wide variety of backgrounds and we find ourselves creating fine art, photography, film, graphic design, sculpture, performing arts, handicrafts and sound art, among other things.
