Solidary and creative: studio house in the Veringhöfe. Space for artists and a meeting point in the Reiherstieg district.

From an asbestos factory to a creative hub: as part of the IBA's “Räume für die Kunst” program, the idea of a studio building became a reality in 2010, with the first tenants moving in in 2013. Nevertheless, the site has a much longer history.

Atelierhaus 23 is a unique place for art and culture. It is made up of two association structures: the non-profit Verein zur Förderung von Kunst und Kultur e.V. and Verein Veringhöfe e.V..

In the Gallery 23, we not only exhibit the works of the artists from Atelierhaus 23, but also act as a platform for guest exhibitions, events in the neighborhood and direct artistic exchange on the Veringkanal.

Moin, ich bin Jessi vom niceey studio - als Kommunikationsdesignerin denke und gestalte ich. Was ich mit meiner Arbeit erreichen möchte? Ich möchte die Welt bunter und positiver gestalten.

Besonders schön ist es im Atelier, wenn sich die Abendsonne im dem Kanal vor dem Fenster spiegelt und bewegte Schatten an die Zimmerdecke wirft. Dann kann ich nichts mehr arbeiten.  Bei allen anderen Wetterlagen entwerfe ich Bastelbögen, stehe an der Druckmaschine oder sitze an der Schreibmaschine. 

Ich hab schon als Teenager angefangen, meine eigenen Klamotten zu nähen. Hauptsächlich weil ich Gothic sein wollte und coole Gothic-Klamotten viel zu teuer waren.

We are artists from a wide variety of backgrounds and we find ourselves creating fine art, photography, film, graphic design, sculpture, performing arts, handicrafts and sound art, among other things.
